Introduction:

Being a digital nomad is not an easy thing for the most part because digital nomads experience a lot of hardships with visas. If you are someone from the USA or Europe, then things will be easier for you as you’ll be able to get the tourist visas with ease. But for other lesser-known countries, getting these tourist visas can be a bit difficult.

Being a digital nomad is something that not most people understand. If you tell someone who’s checking your visa application that you’re a digital nomad, they’ll surely give you a weird look and ask you what it is. And when you tell them that you basically earn from travelling and then blogging about it mainly, they will still not be sure what you’re trying to tell them. It’s a new and complex concept for most.

If you’re a digital nomad, I’m sure that you wish for a visa category that suits you! Because a tourist visa is not something that the digital nomads prefer for their travels and getting them can be a long-winded task, which can slow things down for the digital nomads. Well, I got some good news for you! Your wish has come true!

Today, we’re going to talk about the countries that have a digital nomad visa where you can go with ease and experience travel just like the way you want to, without any complications!

Why You Should Get A Digital Nomad Visa:

I know that most of you will still be wondering why you should be going for a digital nomad visa instead of the normal tourist visa, right? Well, first of all, you should be aware that there are no regulations in any places around the world that claim that you are not allowed to work in them as a remote worker. But the question is that how will they figure out anyway if you visit the place as a tourist?

The problem is that most countries offer very short tourist visas. And if you think that you’d want to spend a longer time somewhere, you’ll have to worry about the visa and other regulations, right? So, thinking about the visa related issues all the time can be very pathetic for us all.

So, think about your circumstances and think whether you’ll be ok with the tourist visas that you require you to leave a country every 90 days or so. If you’re not, then what you need is a digital nomad visa that will get rid of the issue of thinking about all the time consuming and useless regulations!

Freelancers & Digital Nomads: The Difference?

There are a lot of people who are unable to differentiate between a freelancer and a digital nomad. Let’s consider it with the following example:

There is a person whose name is Jack. Jack has been working in a corporation for 12 years. He goes to the office each day and works 9 to 5. Jack has legal documents that show he is an employee of this major corporation and because of this; he can easily apply for visas and get them. But then the Covid-19 pandemic hit and Jack’s employer told Jack that he has to work from home. But as Jack is not sure how working from home can be done in an efficient manner, he feels a bit confused. As time goes by, Jack realizes that he does not need to stay in one place to do his job and that he can be anywhere and do his work.

Jack asked whether he should let his boss know that he will be moving to another country in order to work. First of all, the boss was a little reluctant about it, but Jack realized in the end that he didn’t really need that permission as he’s already working from his home anyways, right? All that he was required to do was to be online in accordance with the office hours and that’s it. But the problem that comes from moving is the time differences which might change the working hours for Jack, if he wishes to move to another country.

So, Jack is a freelancer as he has a job that he has to keep. His lifestyle is to be working from home while living in some other place. And Jack can move whenever he wants, to wherever he wants, while keeping his job.

As for being a digital nomad, let’s talk about someone named Sam. Sam works in the field of video editing and he moves to different places about every 4 months or so, in order to get an experience of the culture of the different places around the world. Sam’s jobs are contractual or you can say they are short term jobs and therefore he can accept and reject jobs as he pleases. As long as Sam has an internet connection, he can handle a number of projects at once so that he can prepare for his next move. He knows that is job is safe and secure as long as he can get the internet connection.

He also has experience of being a digital nomad so he manages everything smartly. His payment transactions are fast and his work burden is uncertain. He can have no work in one month and then more than 10 projects in the next month. And this work depends on his will to either accept the projects or reject them. This means that he has complete control over his time as long as he is able to maintain the budget that is required for the lifestyle. So, this indicates the difference between a freelancer and a digital nomad.
